Group Shopping Guide Together we can bring down the price!
|
Step 1 - Understand the Basics
We will show you how Group Shopping works by walking you through an example. Lets start with understanding what a Group Shopping item is composed of. Please take a look at the above example page.
1. Group Shopping Price Bar:
- Shows prices associated with different levels. In the example, we have 5 levels starting with $195 to the lowest price of $175.
- "Group Price" in red indicates the current price. Now we are at level 1 with $195. Current level price bar is highlighted with a bright blue color.
2. Group Shopping Quantity:
- In this example, we are at the first level with quantity of 1-5. Currently we have 3 group items (check the number in section 3) In order to go to the next level, level 2 with price of $189, we need at least 3 more items to accumulate group items to 6.
- Question: Now we have 3 group items, how many more do we need to get to the last level to get max saving?
- Answer: 12. that is 15 minus 3. So we need at least 12 more items to get to the last level.
- Currency will show at the bottom. So far all goods are priced in either USD or CAD.
3. Group Shopping Info Panel:
- This panel shows information regarding what you need to know about this Group Shopping item.
- Starting Price: Original price of the item
- Group Price: Current price at the current level
- Group Items: Number of items requested by shoppers (see 4 for more details)
- Reserve Items: Number of items reserved by shoppers (see 5 for more details)
- Time Left: Time remaining before this Group Shopping item ends. Group shopping will end when a. time's up b. maximum quantity is fulfilled (in this example it's limited to 17)
4. Your action, Join:
- If you are committed to buying this item and are willing to share your buying power with other shoppers, you can click Join and select the number of items you like to purchase.
- Your Join will be reflected in the Group Items. For example, if you Join now and request 2 items, Group Items will be 5 (3 + 2).
- An alert email will be sent to you for your participation. You will be invoiced after Group Shopping ends since price will not be settled until after the listing. When you do check out, the price will be the Group Shopping price instead of the original price. Now you can save $!
5. Your action, Reserve:
- Reserve is quite different from Join. Reserve means you are committed in buying this item ONLY when the price is at the price you reserve. For example, if you make a Reserve of 2 items at price $185, you need 4 more Group Items to get your Reserve fulfilled. ( 9 - current items 3 - your reserve items 2)
- An alert email will be sent to you for your Reserve. An invoice will be sent to you ONLY when your Reserve is fulfilled.
Step 2 - Join or Reserve
If you like to Join Group Shopping, you only need to select the quantity and then submit. If you like to make Reserve, you can follow the 3 steps: 1. select number of items you like to reserve 2. price level 3. submit.
In this example, we are reserving 3 items at price of $189.
Step 3 - Fill out Order Information
After you Join or Reserve, you will need to proceed to fill out order information for the merchant. There you need to fill out billing and shipping information. This is NOT the official purchase as the pricing has not been settled. A invoice will be sent to you for final checkout After listing ends.
Step 4 - Done! Wait until the Listing ends
In this example, you can see the current level has dropped to level 2 with price of $189 after our Reserve.
How? Originally we have 3 Group Items, and we Reserve 3 items at level 2, so that brings the total of Groups Items to 6 which is enough to hit level 2 pricing! This also fulfills our Reserve as the quantity is enough to hit the level we reserve for. So on the Information Panel, it reads 6 for Group Items and 3 for Reserve Items. (We reserved 3, and total committed buying items is now 6)
